A&A Optical Employees Volunteer at The Legacy Willow Bend

In celebration of Make a Difference Day, A&A Optical employees spent the day volunteering at The Legacy Willow Bend.

In recent years, A&A Optical has made it a tradition to incorporate social initiatives into the company culture by volunteering and serving the community, on A&A Service Days. On October 19, employees spent the day interacting with the elderly residents and nurturing staff at The Legacy Willow Bend.


In preparation for the day, employees cooked up scrumptious pots of chili for the residents’ special Chili Cook-Off. Ballots were cast for three anonymous recipes of beef chili. The residents enjoyed the tasting activity and let their preferences be heard without bias.

With kind words to share, great listening skills, and kind smiles, the A&A team brightened the day of many residents. Hearing life stories, perspectives on life, and playing rousing games of Bingo after the tastings, the whole team felt like winners by the end of the day.


Ann King, The Legacy Willow Bend Lifestyle Coordinator, believed the day was a huge success. She said:  “If we can make one person smile, than we’ve succeeded. It’s been worth it. We actually made a room full of people happy.”

A&A Optical announces the release of a series of DIYD (Do It Yourself Display) Guides. In an effort to increase our customers’ product insight and ultimately market their optical dispensary as a retail space, A&A offers helpful and creative merchandising tips in a series of easy to use “how-to-guides.” DIYD Guides feature a themed display and a corresponding list of props (including price and suggested place of purchase). In addition, the guides offer ideas for recycling and reusing the purchased props. The guides are an ultimate source for inspiration and point of reference for DIY merchandising ideas.
