Last week, Vision Expo West 2022, a convention that brings together thousands of members of the eyecare industry, concluded in Las Vegas. The event, organized by The Vision Council and RX, is described as, “the complete event for ophthalmic professionals, where eyecare meets eyewear and education, fashion and innovation mingle.” Over 380 companies attended to showcase their exhibits, participate in educational and engaging programming, and interact with other eyecare professionals from across the globe.

At Vision Expo West, attendees were given the opportunity to walk through The Suites, a unique part of the programming that gave companies access to established fashion houses and trending boutiques. In addition to this, Vision Expo also presented over 320 hours of educational content to attendees, an exciting launch for their new educational program.
The star of the show was the Innovation Stage, where a number of educational panels were hosted, most notably the EYE2EYE Series Panels. Discussions ranged from topics about predicting upcoming fashion trends to tactics for continual improvement of patient satisfaction and care. According to Mitch Barkley, the Vice President of Trade Shows and Events at The Vision Council, “The success of the Show directly impacts The Vision Council’s ability to fulfill its mission of growing the industry through education, advocacy, research, and consumer education — so by being here together we are all helping to elevate the greater industry.”
The Expo even enabled industry supporters and groups to come together and host various networking events and parties. This included the Prevent Blindness organization hosting their Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament.
Vision Expo even went so far as to introduce Vision Expo+, an online extension that was offered from September 15th to the 23rd. Vision Expo+ allowed vision care community members that were unable to attend the in-person event to still be a part of the action, giving them access to online showrooms, educational symposiums, and recorded content from over 350 exhibitors.
Vision Expo has been a great way for A&A Optical to continually grow its network and develop itself to keep up in the fast-paced environment that has resulted from social media and other digital interactions. And with so many exciting things happening here at A&A, like the launch of our newest collection of frames with Aeropostale, Vision Expo couldn’t have come at a better time. We are constantly working to stay on top of eye care trends and expand our industry reach, and we can’t wait until Vision Expo 2023.
